More and more retailers are looking to go mobile, whether it’s with an app, QR code, and now sms text message marketing.
Currently Tommy Hilfiger is engaging in sms marketing and anyone who texts into TM1985 to 289784 automatically includes you into Tommy Hilfigers exclusive VIP Text Club. Instead of going to the store or waiting to view an updated special online, you’ll receive coupons, specials and new clothing line releases in real time.
Having visited one Tommy Hilfiger store recently, I was given a rebate card in which I had a certain time to redeem my 10%-%25% off. Everything seemed interesting enough until the last folded card popped up. The very bottom of the card reads “TEXTEZ TH1985 AU 289784”. It is great that Tommy Hilfiger is reaching out to their audience by going mobile, however, placing the call-to-action message on the last card at the very bottom doesn’t help out the text campaign:
Placement of the call-to-action (ex: Text SHOP to 77223) is so pivotal to your campaigns health that it can make the difference of having a few opt-ins as opposed to having thousands. SMS Marketing is a powerful tool and putting your message in the right place will not only increase the number of opt-ins, but create an engaging experience between your business and your customers.
Placements of your call-to-action:
- Front Store
- Business Cards
- Table Tents
- Counter display
You want to make sure you place your call-to-action in the right spot where your customers can see your campaign and allow them to have the opportunity to opt-in.
